MARION - The 22-year-old Marion man charged with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol resulting in the death of Justin Dodd, 22, of Johnston City, is set to go to trial in November. Dodd was a passenger in Hill's vehicle.

The Southern According to the Soles4Souls Charity, Americans dispose of about 300 million shoes a year. On the flipside there are about 300 million children in the world who don't have shoes.
- Sale of old hospital still an issue with Marion council
MARION - The problem simply won't go away. Marion Mayor Bob Butler convinced Commissioners John Goss and Jay Rix earlier this summer that it was in the city's best interest to try to sell the former Marion Memorial Hospital building on West Main Street rather than tear it down and sell the property. The two supported Butler over the objections of Commissioners Lannie Gribble and Bob Owens who prefer demolition of the existing building.
